If Neku isn't anti-social, then Joshua is not gay. Neku has closed out the entire world from him for fifteen years. Even after the game, Neku avoids others like the flu. But he's learned to open up, and if you dig a little deeper, he's much nicer than you'd expect from the angsty, emo-like teenager.

~HISTORY~
History:
Neku was a teenager at Shibuya, ignoring all of Shibuya for his own life... until that day...
He was killed by someone... and was sucked into the UnderGround (UG), where he was forced to play...
The Game (XD)
He paid the entrance fee with dearest thing... his memories, and was forced to play this game of life and death. For seven days, he and his pact partner Shiki were forced to fight and complete tasks delivered to them by the Game Master, all the way to the final day, where they finished off this GM, Higashizawa.
However, when the Game was over, only Shiki Misaki was allowed to tranverse from the UG to the Real Grounds (RG). The two made a promise to meet each other when both of them were out. Then, the Conductor, Kitanji, allowed Neku to join in another Game, taking his new entry fee.... Shiki Misaki.
This time, he was forced to partner up with Yoshiru, known as Joshua by everyone. An a**, he was... it was here that Neku was forced to follow the words that Mr. Hanekoma had carefully placed into his hand.
"Trust your partner."
Even with this character, Neku found himself put into a place of confusion and anger. When Neku scanned this mysterious boy, he found memories of... his own death. After several days and scannings, Neku learned about many things. One, Joshua's goal was to take the city of Shibuya from the Composer's hands... by storming the Composer's home, the Shibuya River, with guns blazing. Two, Neku found out who killed him. After these scans... Neku saw Joshua with a gun... shooting him. Caught between rage and confusion, Neku continued to trust this powerful, dangerous partner, down to the GM, Sho Minamimoto. There, Neku was given another part of his death memory, where he found that Joshua was never guilty. That Sho was the one that shot him. But alas, after they defeated Sho, the number cruncher pulled a final stop: Level i Flare. Joshua chivalrously took himself to take the full blow, causing Minamimoto... and Joshua... to die.
Neku felt guilt from accusing Joshua for his death, but didn't have enough time to dwell on it. Kitanji walked up to Neku for the second time, informing him that the previous game was illegitimate, due to Sho Minamimoto and Joshua's actions. Therefore, Neku was forced to play one last game; his final game.
This time, his entry fee was all the other Players.
Because Neku was alone... he was going to die without a partner. But then, an angel from above saved him... or should I say... Reaper?
Meet Beat, an old... "friend" of Neku's. Originally a player on Week 1, Beat's partner was erased, but Beat survived due to Hanekoma's abilities. But on Week 2, Beat defected to the Reapers, attempting to revive his parter... his younger sister, Rhyme. Now, on Week 3, Beat realized his previous attempts were futile, and that the Reapers were nothing good. Using Neku, Beat planned to storm the Shibuya River, take the Composer title for himself, and use the Composer powers to revive Rhyme, who had given her life for him before.
This third week was torturous, with the GM Iron Maiden Konishi and her two subGMs Kariya and Uzuki. But the two sticked together, though they were at a rough start due to Beat's... lower IQ. Eventually, they stormed the Composer's base, only to engage against Kitanji. After defeating the Conductor, however, Neku is united with Shiki, and learns of Kitanji's goals.
The Conductor was pulling the strings through everything. By forcing Players to use give people Outlet Pins, he had control of everyone's thoughts. And now, Neku had to defeat Kitanji, in an attempt to save Shibuya.
When the Conductor was erased... Joshua reappeared. As Neku stood dazed, Joshua explained everything.
Joshua.
Is.
The.
Composer.
Knowing of the chaos and eventual downfall of Shibuya, Joshua was planning to nuke all of Shibuya to nothing, but Kitanji objected, and agreed to play a game with Joshua. Kitanji used his GMs as proxys, while Joshua used... Neku. At that moment, Joshua gave Neku the last of his memories, revealing that Sho never killed Neku, and instead... Joshua did.
As Neku stood there, going insane with the information given to him, Joshua gave Neku one last game. A gun duel. Whoever killed the other... would win the title of Composer, and do whatever they wanted to do with Shibuya. Neku, however, could not bring himself to kill Joshua, and was killed.
That wasn't the end, though. Joshua, through Neku, found that people really could change, and that Shibuya could grow to the land of possibility it should be, and therefore, rewound everything. Neku was reunited with his friends... and all was well.
...
Neku... never forgave Joshua for what he did. Forcing him to interact with people, to give his life to others, to be responsible for others... Neku could never forgive Joshua for what he did with him. But...
"Trust your partner."
...And that's what he did.
BATTLE_INFORMATION
Weapons and Key Items: Pins, his Phones. You don't touch the phones.
Strengths: Neku is an extreme master of psyches; psychic power stored within pins. He can use almost any pin in battle, each one with a varied effect. With certain pins, Neku can even summon Noise, giving him the effects of the Noise to himself. Although his power is weak compared to others, a Game Pact will quickly turn the tables.
Weaknesses: Without a partner, Neku's pin usage is limited. His lack of defense also opens problems, and could lead to him being the cause of defeat. Neku has to trust in agility over defense. His pins all have setbacks, and it may be difficult to use them together efficiently.
Fighting Style: Full out offensive pin usage. By constantly pumping out pins, Neku can keep a great offence without fearing counterattack.
Attacks:
===========
Pins: Allows Neku to hold and use 3 pins. Each pin has its advantages and effects, as well as disadvantages and downtime.
-------------
Noisy Noise: Sacrifices the use of one pin to summon Noise. The Noise summoned differs and is partially based of the pin.
------------
Start Game: Brings the RG and UG together, allowing the playing of the Game. Since Neku is not a composer, this game is not really like the previous games. But, like the other Games, this forces people to start spirit pacts. If you don't start a spirit pact, you constantly take damage.
-----------
Spirit Pact: Fuses souls together, so they may live in the UG/RG field created from Start Game. Different effects occur.
1. Allows use of Noise Field
2. Activates Light Puck and allows use of Fusion Attack
3. Neku is allowed to use 6 pins instead of 3.
Other people can also create Spirit Pacts, and gain the same effects, minus the third one.
Light Puck: Activated upon a Spirit Pact. Whoever attacks first sends a Puck of light to their partner, who then receives a boost. Their next attack will gain a little bit of a piercing ability, and will get a damage boost, before moving to the other partner. This passing of the puck is called a Rally. The faster the rally goes, the more power is gained upon receiving the puck.
Note: Enemies with Spirit Pact can use this as well.
---------
Noise Field: Reseperates the UG and the RG, taking the enemy along with it. Neku and his partner must fight the enemy from two fields, a physical field, and a spiritual field.
If there is more than one enemy, the enemies are split evenly across the fields. (EG: 2v2 will turn into two 1v1 fields. 3v3 will turn into two 1v1 fields with the third enemy warping in and out of the fields)
Neku takes the physical field, and his partner takes the spiritual field. The enemy is randomly pulled through different fields. If there is a third person on either Neku's team or the enemy's team, that third person is given "Harrier" position, allowing them to teleport from the physical field to the spiritual field.
On the Noise Field, health is shared. Meaning:
Neku and his allies' HP is pooled into one large HP bar.
The enemies have an option of sharing HP, or not.
If HP is shared, then it doesn't matter who's hurt, everyone gets a piece of the pain. Once all the pooled HP is gone... everyone dies. However, this can also be good. If Neku loses all his HP, he won't die unless his partner also loses all their HP. It CAN be bad, though, if that partner is taking too many hits, and begins to deplete Neku's hp.
----------------
Field Swap: Swaps fields. Neku goes into the spiritual field and his partner moves into the physical field.
----------------
Fusion Attack: Once the Light Puck has been rallied for long enough, Neku and his partner can team up to:
A) Combine their attacks to release a powerful blow to all enemies.
B) Create doppelgangers, allowing Neku and his partner to fight on both fields at the same time. (three posts)
The longer they've been rallying, the more powerful effects. Once the puck has been rallied for long enough, both effects can be used.
Note: The enemy can use this as well, if they meet the conditions, along with the Spirit Pact.
==================
Signature Final: [[Your character's special and most powerful attack.]]
Final-Gatito: Can be used after Neku finishes a Fusion attack. Swaps some of his pins for Gatito pins. The number of pins swapped changes which pins he recieves. Regardless of what happens, Neku loses these pins after another Fusion Attack, and won't be able to use the same Gatito pins for the rest of the battle.
EG: Neku swaps two pins, then uses a fusion attack. He won't be able to swap two pins again, but he can still swap three pins for a new set.
If he swaps 2 pins:
Universe Undone- Charges a large amount of energy to release a powerful blast of pure light. Pierces.
3 pins:
Krafty CAT- Doubles speed of everything. Pin usage, Light Puck, movement speed of Neku and his allies, everything.
4 pins:
The Four Sages- Summons skull seals on the field, which constantly shoot ricochet beams that travel from one seal, to the other, to the other, to the other. Seals move on their own.
5 pins:
Legacy of Eden- Neku gets the light puck automatically. And as long as Neku has the light puck, he's invincible.
6 pins:
The Darklit Planets- Neku gets these six pins:
-Mercury: A steady orb of water is brought out
-Mars: A steady path of flames is brought out
-Venus: A steady stream of energy bullets is brought out
-Jupiter: A steady blade of energy is brought out
-Saturn: A steady barrier of draining surrounds Neku
-Uranus: A steady tower of darkness is brought out
The first pin used gets 3x damage, the second gets 2.5x, the third 2x, the fourth 1.5x, the fifth 1x, and the sixth does .5x damage. This effect can be stacked with Light Puck.
